The Supreme Court of the United States
shall be composed of NINE Justices.

The Founders set up three branches of government, and the judiciary was intentionally set up outside of elections. This was done to keep the judiciary independent of the other branches of government, ensuring its ability to provide checks and balances.

Now, radical politicians seek to pack the court with more Justices in an effort to make the court more partisan.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris

Endorsed a Senate proposal advocating for significant Supreme Court reform, which included appointing a new justice every two years.

senator Sheldon Whitehouse

in 2024 Senator Whitehouse said that if Democrats secured control of the White House and Congress, they would be “virtually certain” to pass a Supreme court reform bill. Including 18-year term limits.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Following the confirmation of Justice Barrett in 2020, AOC urged the expansion of the court. She reiterated her stance in 2021 and again after the overturn of Roe v. Wade in 2022.

rep. Rashida Talib

Talib has called for the impeachment of specific justices, and advocated for expanding the Supreme Court.

Rep. Cori Bush

Bush has called for the impeachment of specific justices, and advocated for expanding the Supreme Court.

Court packing is a Bad Idea that has existed since FDR’s New Deal.

During his presidency, the Supreme Court struck down several of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal policies. To prevent further unfavorable rulings, FDR proposed expanding the number of Justices, intending to appoint those sympathetic to his agenda and secure support for his legislative initiatives. However, the plan faced strong opposition from both Democrats and Republicans, ultimately compelling him to abandon the effort.
